Play is the foundation of learn
-ing. Children develop socially
and emotionally through play.
In the Montessori classroom,
the child is suddenly part of a
group, role play and turn taking changes the “it’s mine” mindset to help develop the skill of sharing.

Free Play Time

Our puppet shows are a wonderful way of re-enforcing numbers and letters. We combine popular stories, songs and rhymes to play answer games, filling our classroom with giggles!

We love to embark on new
projects; they are fun,
interesting + educational.
The photo shows our
volcano project, inspired
by the volcanic eruption
in Iceland in 2009. The
children produced an
amazing piece of art.

Story time is our introduction to circle time. Books are available in our classroom all day and a child may decide to take a book to the story mat and create their own story by following the illustrations, this develops confidence and independence. “Books are always magical!”
